The short version
This page explains what fruitychance.org.uk collects from visitors, why, and what happens to it. It does not cover what Fruitychance itself collects once you register or deposit on the operator's own platform – that sits under the operator's own privacy notice, not ours. We're an independent information portal, and this notice concerns our data handling only.
In short: we collect basic technical data automatically, plus whatever you volunteer through a contact form. We don't sell data, and we keep only what we need for as long as we need it.
Data you hand over vs data we observe
Two categories cover almost everything we hold. The first is information you actively give us – your name and email address if you use the contact form, and the content of your message. The second is information we observe automatically as you browse: IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed and referring links, gathered via standard analytics and cookie technology.
- Contact-form submissions – name, email, message content
- Technical and analytics data – IP address, device, browser, approximate location
- Cookie identifiers – see our separate cookie policy for detail
We do not ask for, and never knowingly collect, financial details, passwords or identity documents – that kind of data belongs to the operator's own onboarding process, not ours.
Processors and transfers
Some data passes through third-party processors that help run this site – hosting providers and analytics tools, principally. These processors act under instruction and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. Where a processor is based outside the UK, appropriate safeguards apply to the transfer.
We never sell visitor data to advertisers or brokers. Any advertising-related cookies are covered separately in our cookie policy, and only operate with consent.
Exercising your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to access, correct, erase or restrict the data we hold about you, to receive it in a portable format, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email [email protected] – we aim to respond within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk.
Retention
Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve the enquiry, then deleted or anonymised. Analytics data is generally retained for a limited period on an aggregated basis, after which it no longer identifies an individual visitor. We don't keep data indefinitely "just in case".
Under-18s
This site, and the gambling content it discusses, is intended for adults only. Access is restricted to visitors aged 18+, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. Parents concerned about a child's access to gambling-related sites may wish to look at parental-control software such as Net Nanny or Qustodio.
Changes to this notice
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The current version applies from the date shown below; material changes will be reflected here.
